Glossary of terms Credibility: the quality or power of inspiring belief Genre: a type of art, literature, or music characterized by a specific form, content, and style. For example, literature has four main genres: poetry, drama, fiction, and non-fiction. Occasion: the immediate or incidental cause or reason for some action or result. Speaker: is the voice that speaks behind the scene.
Ethos: the credibility, or an ethical appeal, which involves persuasion by the character involved. Logos: is a literary device that can be defined as a statement, sentence, or argument used to convince or persuade credible or not, the audience needs to understand his intention and his strong understanding of the subject. Pathos: a quality of an experience in life, or a work of art, that stirs up emotions of pity, sympathy, and sorrow.
